Remove Ink Stain From Carpet

To remove ink from carpet wet a clean cloth with rubbing alcohol and gently blot the stain. Keep blotting for 30 minutes so the alcohol has time to dissolve the ink. Again repeat this process until the stain is removed entirely.

Once the alcohol has soaked for a minute take a clean rag and begin blotting more ink from the stain. When the ink is gone rinse your carpet with a warm water vinegar solution to prevent damage from the alcohol. Touching the fiber might further grind in the ink then apply a spot remover or carpet cleaner with foaming action to lift up the ink. Allow the area to dry.

If you have light or white colored carpet hydrogen peroxide can also help to remove ink and toner. Then rinse it with plain water.

Once the area is stain free dab the area with a towel dipped in lukewarm water. The alcohol will penetrate the stain but it can also go deeper and harm the padding under the carpet if you are not careful. Repeat the first and second step until the stain is disappeared. This is another simple method to remove permanent ink from the carpet as acetone works at dissolving the ink.

Once you begin to lightly blot the ink stain from the carpet you should start to see the color transfer onto the towel. The acetone will gradually dissolve the ink and it will be absorbed in the cotton ball. Apply enough to cover the stain and allow it to soak down about half an inch. Blot and repeat until the stain is gone.

Spray the hairspray onto the stained carpet to soften the ink.
