Remove Ink Stain From Wool Carpet

Spray the stain from around 20cm away to avoid damaging the pile then blot it with a damp cloth. Step 2 fill a sink or with cool water. Once you begin to lightly blot the ink stain from the carpet you should start to see the color transfer onto the towel. The alcohol will penetrate the stain but it can also go deeper and harm the padding under the carpet if you are not careful. Blot with a clean dry towel to help lift more of the stain. Mix up a solution of ammonia.

Repeat until ink is no longer being transferred onto the towel. A dry stain will need to be soaked in denatured alcohol for at least five minutes. Then dampen a clean white cotton towel with isopropyl alcohol do not pour alcohol directly onto the carpet and blot the stain. Now follow the same steps as for the water based inks to get rid of harsh ammonia residue then dry with a fresh cloth.

Place the wool garment on top of the towel with the ink stain facing up. Apply enough to cover the stain and allow it to soak down about half an inch. Add in a tablespoon of ammonia.
